Hosea

Hosea was a prophet to Israel whose tragic life modeled the message of God’s abounding faithfulness to His people. The book falls into two parts: a narrative of his life with an adulterous wife and a series of sermons declaring God’s holiness, justice, and love to an adulterous people.

Join Pastor Chuck Swindoll as he shares Hosea’s struggles and teaches us to imitate the prophet’s firm faith.

Consider your own marriage and commitments. If you have strayed, recommit to godliness. Reach out to those running from God. Glimpse God’s love and justice through Hosea’s life and ministry!

Joel

The name Joel means “Jehovah is God.” Without reservation, the prophet Joel believed what his name declared. When a locust plague descended on Israel, he preached to the people of Judah, warning them of the consequences of sin and offering hope if they returned to God.

Join Pastor Chuck Swindoll as he explores Joel’s message of repentance and revival.

Disasters often carry a message directly from God. Discover what God may be teaching you in your own affliction. God is jealous for your love—turn to Him today!

Amos

Israel was steeped in religiosity, immorality, compromise, and complacency. A strong voice was needed—a determined, disciplined, courageous man of God to proclaim the truth and denounce the sins of Israel. Amos was just the man!

With relentless zeal, he kept preaching God’s message: sin always brings judgment. Dig further into Amos’ life and message with Pastor Chuck Swindoll.

You can be a spokesperson for God no matter your background. Speak up! Make Christ known and help others walk in repentance.

Obadiah

Obadiah directed his message to Edom, the descendants of Esau, who lived proud and secure in red, rock fortresses. Because they looked down upon God’s people with vengeance and pride, there was no hope of restoration for them.

Follow along in the minor prophets as Pastor Chuck Swindoll helps you better understand this short, but applicable book.

A day is coming for the proud. Failure is certain for those holding grudges and taking vengeance into their own hands. Place your security in the Lord and leave the rest for him to take care of!

Jonah

The book of Jonah, as Pastor Chuck Swindoll refreshingly demonstrates, is not a tale of a whale. It’s an account of people in desperate need of deliverance . . . and a messenger who had to overcome his prejudice to go to them and announce the truth.

Jonah remains one of the clearest expressions in all the Old Testament of the missionary heart of our God. Tune in to hear a new take on this familiar prophet.

Quit resisting God’s call or resenting the direction of his sovereign hand. Encounter God’s grace afresh!

Micah

With a simple yet courageous style, Micah shouted out God’s strong reproofs to the rich, the rulers, and the religious. The message? Repent!

It is doubtful that the poor peasants of Judah ever had a stronger champion than their countryman Micah, the powerful preacher. Learn to imitate Micah’s bold obedience in this sermon by Pastor Chuck Swindoll.

Memorize and follow Micah’s insightful words. “The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8).

Nahum

One hundred years after Jonah’s visit to Ninevah, Nahum wrote to the descendants of the people Jonah had evangelized. They had encountered God, but refused to pass on to their descendants the knowledge and fear of Him. Nahum brought God’s message of judgment . . . their time was up.

Open your Bible with Pastor Chuck Swindoll to this minor prophet. Recognize the consequences of negligence. Heed Nahum’s warning to the Ninevites and fear God with reverence.

Taking God seriously is the first step in a lifelong walk with Him!

Habakkuk

The prophet Habakkuk struggled to understand God’s seemingly indifferent attitude to the evils Habakkuk witnessed. When God revealed His plan, an even greater problem arose—the Babylonians were coming!

God gave Habakkuk what we all need—a fresh vision of His justice and a renewed assurance of His presence.

Join Pastor Chuck Swindoll as he explores this relevant, meaningful book. Take your questions to God and wait patiently for His perspective. He may not silence all your doubts, but He’ll make you sure of Him!

Zephaniah

Zephaniah, a prophet who descended from the royal line of David, had great influence on King Josiah. He did not compromise his convictions even though he had access to the king. He firmly announced sure judgment, and he tenderly prophesied God’s eventual relief.

Dive into Zephaniah’s story in this sermon by Paster Chuck Swindoll. Recognize where God has placed you so that you can expose others to your faith. Get creative and share His message with faithfulness.

Hold out hope regardless of the brokenness around you. Realize the urgency—start sharing today!

Haggai

Haggai was God’s spokesman sent to awaken the post-captivity Jews from their lethargy to complete the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. The Lord used him to afflict the complacent, convincing them there was no excuse for delay.

Pay attention as Pastor Chuck Swindoll teaches on this short but valuable book! Haggai’s message is greatly needed in our me-first world.

God will use many things to turn our hearts back to him. Learn to listen to God’s Word in your own life, to His wisdom when we go through trials, and to His encouragement!

Malachi

God’s people didn’t know it, but they stood on the brink of silence—God’s four-hundred-year silence—between the Old and New Testaments. Malachi was the last prophet of the Old Testament to foretell the coming of the Messiah.

Malachi witnessed the stagnant, corrupt indifference of God’s people. He warned them of the consequences of spiritual apathy. Listen to this sermon by Pastor Chuck Swindoll to learn about God’s final message from the Old Testament prophets.

Refuse to rationalize sin. Continue in faithfulness to God, no matter the challenges that come. Uphold the standard of righteousness as you follow Him!
