“Thank you for serving our country, for taking your duty seriously. Thank you for defending our freedom in places that were not easy to [defend]. For some of you, they represented places of grave danger, where you witnessed horrible events including even the deaths of your comrades. And therefore, we salute you today, and we thank you for what you represent in a world that is fast losing its way. Thank you for your courage, for your devotion to do what is right, for pressing on in lonely places and remaining faithful to your military service and responsibilities.”
